What We Believe
FBC believes in the sufficiency of the Word of God for all matters of faith and practice. We hold to the Southern Baptist doctrinal standard, the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). You can view it here. As a church we have found it to be an excellent summary of the teachings contained in the Bible.
How We Worship
John 4:24 "God is Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." Our worship services typically last about an hour. We sing, pray, read Scripture, give offerings, the pastor preaches, and occasionally observe a baptism or the Lord's supper. Our worship service is simple, reverent, and restful. The King James Version is our primary teaching and preaching Bible. We sing traditional hymns. The pastor preaches expository messages from the Word of God. This normally means going verse-by-verse through books of the Bible. There is no set dress code. Come as you are.
Meet Our Pastor
- Jesus Christ is the only head of the Church. Under Him, FBC is a pastor-led congregation. Given by Jesus, the congregation has the keys to the kingdom (Matthew 16:19), and has ordained one pastor and two deacons.
Pastor Luke Cox
Senior Pastor Luke Cox began at FBC on May 31, 2026. He grew up in Olney, Maryland. He earned his Masters of Divinity in Biblical and Theological Studies from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Luke enjoys reading, hiking, and skiing.
